On the Road to Bantry - west of Clonakilty

This is the land of grass and cows.  They are everywhere! We just can’t get over all this green!

Bantry is a fishing town in a beautiful cove with several small islands. We didn’t have time to visit the islands as we were hungry and anxious to get to the market.

Here are some shots of the market and a bit of the town. Oh, and by the way it seems to be easy to get a breast exam here if needed. The sign was along the road as if it were a road sign.

Robert happily eats his pasta caponata that he found at the market. I’m sticking to my diet and found an apple and chunk of local cheese.

This guy is doing a whopping business selling coffee out of the back of his truck at the market. This might be a good retirement business!

We caught the last couple of hours at the Bantry House, an estate situated on the coast just before the town itself. We were able to take photos outside but not inside. The original owner traveled around the world in the mid 1800s. Some family members still live in the house and give tours.

Just can’t resist taking photos of windmills. Down here near the coast they are on the tops of all the hills. The US is really behind the times!

Interesting building in a small town along the way.
